World’s first ‘solar panel road’ opens in France

Remember solar roofs? The world’s taken this technology further, and the first solar road is here. The innovation is located in the small village of Tourouvre-au-Perche in Normandy, France. The one-kilometer solar road was opened late last December displaying solar panels highway.
Despite the fact that critics have criticized this feat more than they should, it is a remarkable project. For one, technically, flat solar panels are less efficient when compared to the angled panels on roofs.
Secondly, they are also more expensive than the traditional roof panels. It is projected that the installation companies will work at reducing production cost.

So, are the solar roof panels from Tesla the way forward? I am asking because I seemingly learned about another solar outfit in Missouri who installed a small number of panels at the Route 66 Welcome Center in Conway last year.
